The 19th Binghamton Restaurant Week got underway today featuring an eatery that just opened in December.
Nomikui Ramen is located on Main Street near Front.
It serves ramen noodle dishes, sushi and Asian-American fusion cuisine.
Nomikui is offering a 3-course lunch for $15 or a 3-course dinner for $25.
Its ramen is steeped in homemade bone broth that takes 2 hours to prep followed by anywhere from 8 to 24 hours to cook.
Head chef Donabel Sayarot developed the recipes and her husband Andres Castellanos serves as her sous chef.
Co-Owner & Sous Chef Andres Castellanos says, “We went to culinary school. We worked at different places. We feel like we’re sharing a part of ourselves with our customers because that’s something we love to eat. It’s comfort food to us so I think it brings another level of emotion between us and the customer that we’re really passionate about what we do. This is something that we love and love to share with everyone else.”
Castellanos recommends the Chicken Chasu Ramen which combines, chicken and chicken broth with fish cake, egg, scallions, Japanese seaweed called nori and, of course, ramen noodles.
Nomikui is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday.
