Binghamton couple caught on surveillance abandoning a dog

A Binghamton couple has been caught on surveillance camera abandoning a dog on the city’s Southside.

Kenny Thomas and Tanisha Banks, both 38 years old, are accused of dropping their female dog off on John Street last Saturday.

Residents alerted police to the stray and investigators were able to acquire video evidence from a nearby building that led them to the suspects.

The pair were arrested yesterday and given appearance tickets.

The dog, who was rescued on St. Patrick’s Day and taken to a local shelter was named “Patty,” and is doing well.
