The 5th seeded Binghamton Bearcats women’s basketball team was in Albany tonight looking to advance to their first America East semifinal since 2016.
To do so though, they’d need to knock off a 4th seeded Great Danes program they hadn’t beat since February 2011 and were 0-4 against all time in the America East Conference tournament.
After leading by 7 with under 7 minutes to go in the game, the Bearcats season ends in heartbreaking fashion as they drop a tight one to Albany 61-56.
The Great Danes were led by junior Alexi Schecter who led the team in points with 13, rebounds with 9 and assists with 4.
Chyanna Canqda and Kyara Frames each added 12 points for Albany.
For Binghamton senior Rebecca Carmody ended her collegiate career with an outstanding effort notching a double double with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Kai Moon scored 17 on the night and Olivia Ramil added 12 more.
The Bearcats wrap up the 2018-2019 season with an overall record of 12-18 while going 7-10 in conference matchups.
