Bainbridge celebrates the arts with the Regatta Row Street Art Fest

News

An annual celebration of art and culture is hitting the streets of Bainbridge.

The 2019 Regatta Row Street Art Fest and Jericho Arts Council Fine Arts Show will be taking place this Saturday from 2 to 4:30.

On display outside Town Hall on Main Street will be folk art chairs, raised garden planters and canoe paddles created by 51 different artists.

There will also be live music and plenty of local food.

Visitors will also be able to explore the new Town Hall Art gallery featuring 50 multi-media works of regional artists.

Event Chair Nancy Kitchen says originally only local artists took part in the event, but now they receive submissions from other states.

“The people who are coming in bring in different styles and perspectives but always we’re trying to create something that is unique. And also create an environment and cultural experience that people can use art and also bring business into town to look at the art.”

The exhibition will be on display from Saturday through May 24th.

Pieces from the event will be available for auction on JerichoArts.com
