BAE Systems celebrates a milestone in environmentally friendly travel

News

BAE Systems is celebrating a massive milestone in environmentally friendly travel.

The company is marking 2 million miles of zero emission travel for its buses.

BAE has 10,000 electric-powered buses in use across the world, 300 of which are zero emission.

Since being displaced by the historic flood of 2011, the local BAE site has quadrupled in size and is the leading provider of electric propulsion solutions between North America and Europe.

General Manager of Power and Propulsion Solutions Stephen Trichka says the company has been working toward this point for a while.

Trichka says over the next 2 million miles he expects the demand for zero emission buses to continue to grow.

He says they are working on a 3rd generation of buses that are more lightweight and less expensive.
