Lieutenant Colonel Douglas Jensen joined the then Binghamton Cadet Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol on 02 Dec 1988. Little did he know he would become Commander of that unit some 6 months later.
Over the past 30 years Lt Col Jensen has served in many Duty Positions at all echelons of command, including:
- Deputy Commander
- Cadet Programs Officer
- Professional Development Officer
- Testing Officer
- Public Affairs Officer
- Safety Officer
- Emergency Services Officer
- Finance Officer
He currently serves as Commander of the Broome Tioga Composite Squadron, Cadet Programs Officer for South Central Group and the Director of Recruiting and Retention for New York Wing. He is active in CAP’s emergency services mission, recently becoming a qualified incident commander for New York Wing.
Lt Col Jensen has mentored and influenced countless young adults, some entering the US Military, others becoming commercial pilots and some entering the business world.
He will be recognized at the Broome-Tioga Composite Squadron’s quarterly award and promotion ceremony on Thursday January 3rd 2019 at 1830. The ceremony will be held in the Greater Binghamton Airport’s terminal.
