A Johnson City teen has won 4H’s highest honor.

Tuesday night at the 10th annual 4H Legacy awards in Washington DC, 18-year-old Clyde Van Dyke won the 4H Youth in Action award and an additional $5,000 scholarship in recognition of his work in geospatial digital mapping.

In his speech to the convention, Van Dyke thanked 4H and his mentor Kelly Adams for investing in his future and inspiring him to make a difference.

Van Dyke hopes his work will motivate others to solve problems in their own communities and live healthier lives.
