$150K in federal funds to help extend Chugnut Trail

Federal funds will be used to improve residents’ enjoyment of the Susquehanna River.

The Appalachian Regional Commission is providing $150,000 to extend the Chugnut Trail.

A new paved and fully accessible portion will run along the river heading west from Grippen Park.

Another natural surface trail will connect Grippen with nearby Round Top Park.

The money will also pay for a scenic overlook at Round Top and a new boat launch at Grippen.
