Some high school students are showing off why Broome County is a great place to live.

Broome-Tioga P-Tech students have been working on a photography project with the Agency and its campaign “Broome County a good life.”

The students were tasked with taking photos that displayed why it’s great to live in this area.

They then picked their favorite to pitch to the Agency to be used in its good life campaign.

P-Tech Students Zach Sarvey and Shazaria Beaver say it was nice focusing on the positive aspects of their community.

“It’s pushing the students to get out there and really focus on what’s good in Broome County. Fight off the negativity especially focusing on the influence of social media on students. Really giving a good push to get out there and find opportunity not just waiting for it to come to you,” Sarvey says.

Shazaria Beaver P-Tech Student says “I liked that it made me focus on the positive things in Broome County. It really had me out there looking at the things that are positive for everyone.”

P-Tech is a grant funded program that allows students to work toward an associates degree while simultaneously earning their high school diploma.

The submissions that will be used in The Agency’s campaign will be revealed this week.
