SUNY Broome Community College is a comprehensive community college located in the scenic Southern Tier of New York, the college has approximately 10,000 students annually, and serves over 4,000 full-time and nearly 3,000 part-time students per semester in Liberal Arts, Business & Public Services, Health Sciences, and STEM, programs. An additional 10,000 students are served through the college’s community education and non-credit programs.
SUNY Broome Community College has a full-time, tenure-track appointment as an Assistant Professor available Fall, 2019 in the Mathematics Department. Preference given for demonstrated interest and proficiency in the use of alternative and innovative instructional methods, familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom, and experience with online teaching. Candidates comfortable in a student-centered environment and committed to the community college mission are encouraged to apply.
A Master’s degree in Mathematics or Master of Arts in Teaching required. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Mathematics. If the candidate holds a Master of Arts in Teaching, at least 15 graduate credits in mathematics is preferred. Candidate must have the ability to teach all levels from developmental through differential equations. Three years of teaching experience or an appropriate combination of teaching, relevant work experience, and scholarly activity are required. Teaching experience in a community college environment is preferred.
Salary range is $47,232 to $59,040. Salary offer will be based on qualifications.
