UHS Foundation Allocates Nearly $1 Million for 2014

Hospital, nursing home and home care patients in Greater Binghamton all will benefit from $910,940 in grants that will be provided to UHS facilities next year by the UHS Foundation.

The Foundation has released its list of allocations for 2014.

At UHS Hospitals, allocations include $320,200 for the purchase of new urological equipment, $226,000 for orthopedic equipment and $170,000 to help fund the Intensive Care Unit and its equipment needs.

With Foundation donations, UHS Hospitals also will be able to buy $65,000 in operating room instruments and $28,800 in new medical education computer equipment, and add a new $20,000 workstation for breast care and $15,000 in audiology equipment.

UHS Senior Living at Ideal will receive $15,000 for various resident care services, and UHS Home Care’s Twin Tier Home Health area will receive $2,541 for speech therapy tools.

There will be $48,399 in set-aside money for contingencies.
