Three Game Weekend For B-Sens

The Binghamton Senators will play three games in three days as they head into the weekend.
Three games in three days for the East Division leading Binghamton Senators as they head into the weekend. Friday night it's a contest against Atlantic Division Leaders the Manchester Monarchs. On Saturday, they'll go a round with the Syracuse Crunch. And on Sunday it's a trip to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to face the Penguins. One thing the B-Sens will have on their side going into the weekend is momentum. They picked up their 5th straight win on Tuesday against the Norfolk Admirals. They won that game 3-2 but the story isn't all about the offense. In that in that game the B-Sens killed three five on three opportunities for Norfolk. A key component in that shut down D is goalie Nathan Lawson, who with a 12-4 record is tied for 1st place in the league in save percentage. It's a skill set that no one on the B-Sens is taking for granted.

Matt Puempel says, "Laws made a few pretty good saves there that I think the fans liked and we obviously get energy from that on the bench. He's been playing great. When you only let in two goals the whole game it makes our job a lot easier and you get more wins and that's where it's at right now and he's been bailing us out quite a bit. We're pretty fortunate to have him back there."

Binghamton leads Wilkes-Barre/Scranton by one point for first place in the East Division. Friday and Saturday's games are at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
