SUNY Broome to Host Nickelodeon Writing Symposium

The Nickelodeon Writers’ Symposium is designed to prepare applicants for submission to the Nickelodeon Writing Program. During the two-hour presentation, Writing Program Executive Director Karen Kirkland will share vital information on story structure and how to best prepare your script for submission to the Nickelodeon Writing Program.

The event is co-sponsored by the SUNY Broome and TC3 Communication and Media Arts Departments. Students from multiple colleges will be in attendance ( SUNY Oswego, Lackawanna College, TC3, SUNY Oneonta).

About the Nickelodeon Writing Program:
Developed to broaden Nickelodeon’s outreach efforts, the Nickelodeon Writing Program is designed to attract, develop, and staff writers with diverse backgrounds and experiences on Nickelodeon Network productions.

Operating in a three-phased structure, the Program provides a salaried position for up to one year and offers hands-on experience writing spec scripts and pitching story ideas in both live action and animation television.
