State Forum on Common Core Comes to City School District

From BCSD:

The Binghamton City School District’s West Middle School auditorium will be the site for one of 12 community forums being conducted by Education Commissioner John B. King, Jr. as he tours the state discussing the new Common Core standards and other educational reforms.

The forum, which is open to the public, is scheduled for 6 – 8 p.m. November 25. It will be hosted by state Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, D-Endwell, and moderated by the League of Women Voters.

Members of the public who wish to speak will be given a numbered index card as they arrive and be asked to limit their talk to two minutes so as to accommodate as many speakers as possible. The public speaking portion of the event is scheduled to run approximately 90 minutes.

King will be accompanied by members of the Board of Regents, including Binghamton native James R. Tallon, Jr. and other state officials.

West Middle School is located on West Middle Avenue in Binghamton.
