A much-loved tradition continued last Friday as Security Mutual employees held their annual caroling event in the life insurance company's ornate marble lobby in downtown Binghamton. Over 50 singers, including some returning retirees and community members, sang holiday classics accompanied by guitar, banjo, flute and percussion.

Employee and local musician Mike Whitney organizes the caroling.  Security Mutual Chairman, President and CEO Bruce Boyea says it's a wonderful example of his staff's comeraderie.

"We have a very unique employee base. The employees really do care. They care about the community, they care about each other. We do feel that this is a family environment," said Boyea.

Boyea says the historic building, built 100 years ago by Security Mutual, makes a beautiful setting and helps get everyone into the holiday spirit.
