Section IV Playoffs Continue This Weekend

This weekend it's on to the next step in the Section IV High School football playoffs in the Central Region State Quarterfinals.
The Section IV Champions have been crowned but the celebrations are over because the road to the Carrier Dome is only just beginning. So this weekend it's on to the next one in the Central Region State Quarterfinals. The Section IV teams will get a little home field advantage in this round when they host the Section III teams. All games will be played here in the Southern Tier.
In Class AA, Christian Brothers Academy will go up against Elmira. Elmira took down Binghamton Friday night in the Section IV Championship. Both teams are undefeated. Game is at Union-Endicott's Ty Cobb Stadium. Saturday at 3:00 pm. In Class A, Carthage 9-1 will square off against Union-Endicott who beat Vestal on Saturday for the Section IV Title. That game is at 7:00 pm on Friday at Vestal High School. In CLASS B, undefeated defending state champs Maine-Endwell handily beat Johnson City last Friday for the Section IV championship. They will play undefeated Cazenovia, Saturday, 6:00 pm at Ty Cobb Stadium. To Class C. The Chenango Forks Blue Devils, 9-1 on the season will take on General Brown, also 9-1 this season. That game is scheduled for noon on Saturday at Ty cobb Stadium. In Class D, the undefeated 10-0 Tioga Tigers will face 9-1 Herkimer also Friday at 7:00 pm. That one will be played at Union-Endicott.
