Sauerbrey Becomes Tioga Chair

Tioga County has a new chairwoman of its legislature.
Tioga County has a new chairwoman of its legislature. Martha Sauerbrey takes over the reins from Dale Weston.

Sauerbrey has been on the leg for eight years and has been Deputy Chair for the past four. She has also been President of the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce for the past 15 years. Sauerbrey will be stepping down from that position to focus on being chairwoman.

"I am committed to good government. I think it's really important that you have good people in government that really care about their communities and that's why I'm here. I am stepping down from the Chamber with mixed emotions," said Sauerbery.

Sauerbrey says it will be a busy year in Tioga County. There are numerous projects planned including IT department upgrades, financial software improvements and working on developing more effective communication with residents.
