Preston Appoints Greg Kilmer as New Commissioner of B.C. Transit

From Broome County:

Broome County Executive Debbie Preston is pleased to announce the appointment of Gregory Kilmer, of the Town of Maine, as the new Commissioner of B.C. Transit. He started in the position today.

Kilmer spent 15 years as the Assistant Director and Operations Manager of Transportation and Mail Services at Cornell University in Ithaca. While there, he dealt with a variety of transit issues including fleet management, transportation programs, motor coach, charter and shuttle bus programs as well as DOT compliance.

He also helped to develop several innovative programs and services to effectively meet the needs of a diverse and growing college campus.

“Greg has a great deal of knowledge in running a transportation service,” says Preston. “We conducted a thorough search over the last few months following George Bagnetto’s decision to retire. Greg is a great candidate to replace George and can hit the ground running right from the start. We thank George for his years of service to the County.”

“I’m excited for the opportunity to work with Debbie and her team in Broome County,” says Kilmer. "I look forward to providing high quality service to the many transit users of Broome County”

Kilmer replaces George Bagnetto, who is retiring.

His salary will be $72,943, as set by the County Charter.
