Paint With The Players

The Binghamton Senators teamed up with the Magic Paintbrush Project in their annual Paint With The Players workshop on Wednesday.
It's not every day that taking slap shots on the ice is considered art. Wednesday was a very colorful exception as the Binghamton Senators teamed up with the Magic Paintbrush Project in their annual "Paint with the Players" workshop.

The workshop paired individuals with special needs from Greene, Newark Valley and Vestal with B-Sens players for a wide range of activities including, "Slapshot Art" which is always a popular activity. B-Sens Defenseman Chris Wideman found himself a new friend named Nate who palled around with him for the day. And Wideman says the kids aren't the only ones getting the benefit of the community event.

Chris Wideman says, "It allows us to get away from our normal routine of just practice and working out and stuff like that I think it allows us to give the community and get to know some little guys and it's cool for them to see what we do spend some time in the dressing room and stuff like that so I think it's just an all around good day."

The B-Sens see action again this Friday when they host the Phantoms.
