Mayor Ryan's Roast and Toast

Friends and supporters of outgoing Binghamton Mayor Matt Ryan are preparing to send him off in style.
Friends and supporters of outgoing Binghamton Mayor Matt Ryan are preparing to send him off in style. And help him retire some of his campaign debts.

The first and last Mayor Ryan Roast and Toast Dinner will be held this Friday. Roasters include Pokey Crocker of the Discovery Center and attorney John Perticone. The event will be emceed by Joshua B. and Jon Bon Fed will provide caricatures. And Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo will make a toast.

Campaign treasurer and event organizer Tony Quagliata says Ryan is a fighter who sticks to his ideals.

"I think he's done a great job. Especially money-wise. Considering what he came into, a sort of mini version of what President Obama came into. I think he's done a great job and he's got the city finances back where they should be," said Quagliata.

Quagliata says Ryan should brace himself for some raucous roasting, but the Mayor does receive 15 minutes of rebuttal time. There will be live music by the Ringtones, door prizes and Matt Ryan memorabilia. Cash bar starts at 6, the dinner and roast at 7 on Friday. Tickets are $60 per person, $99 a couple and can be purchased at FriendsofMattRyan.com.
