Marinich Weighs in on Comprehensive Plan

Broome County officially has a new comprehensive plan.
Broome County officially has a new comprehensive plan. The Broome County Legislature signed off on the document at its monthly meeting. Broome hasn't had one in 50 years.

The plan sets 9 goals for the next decade.  Some of the main points of it include creating innovation districts in Binghamton, Johnson City and Endicott and encouraging municipalities to adopt more stringent flood plain regulations to make our area more flood resilient. Chairman of the Legislature, Jerry Marinich, says it makes sense to have a roadmap for the future.

"I think that it's important that we stick to the plan, follow the plan. It's the first one that we've had in many years and it's important that we follow the blueprint that has been set before us," said Marinich.

You can view the comprehensive plan on the County's website, GoBroomeCounty.com.
