M-E Gets Set To Face Depew

The Maine-Endwell Spartans are getting ready to face 7th ranked, 9-2 Depew this weekend in the state semifinals.
The undefeated, two time defending State Champion Maine-Endwell Spartans narrowly escaped a loss against Cazenovia in the State Quarterfinals over the weekend. Talk about nailbiters. It ended up coming down to a two point conversion attempt with a minute to go in the 4th Quarter. The M-E defense held the Lakers just inches away from the endzone to preserve a 35-34 win. The Spartans actually had six players sidelined in that one due to violations of team rules. Head Coach Matt Gallagher said after the game that M-E didn't win on talent, they won on heart. Well this weekend against 7th ranked, 9-2 Depew, Everyone's back and the Cazenovia game is in the rear view mirror.
Kyle Gallagher says, "I just think we're taking it like any other week. We're getting ready. We've got everyone back so that's good news. And we kind of forgot about Cazenovia and we're moving onto Depew and our next game and we're getting ready for it."
Alec Wisniewski says, "Coming off a nailbiter, it opened our eyes to every team here is here and ready to win this is the State playoffs. It's win or go home. We've got to get that attitude into our heads and get ready to play our best."

So the Spartans will be fully operational this Saturday in Rochester. Kickoff is set for 3:00 pm at Sahlen's Stadium.
