Literacy Night to Offer Skill-Building Fun at Chenango Valley

Literacy Night at the Chenango Valley Middle School on Nov. 6 will offer over 15 activity stations designed to build skills in a fun environment for students in grades pre-K through sixth. The event will also offer information for parents on the Common Core Learning Standards and how to help your child succeed.
Stations include “Let’s Go Fishing,” for younger children to identify letters, sounds and words; iPad Island, an exploration of applications that promote literacy, fun and learning; and “Be Your Own Author,” where students can create their own book.
A the “Wonderful World of Literacy,” each student will receive a free book to take home. Displays and information will also be provided by the Fenton Free Library, featuring “Goldie Socks and the Three Librarians,” and the Chenango Bridge and Port Dickinson PTA’s.
