Last of BCAC's Literati Reading Series on Dec. 16th

Joseph O. Legaspi is December's featured poet for "BCAC’s Literati Reading Series" with Burt Murray as the opening poet on Monday, December 16th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Broome County Arts Council, 81 State Street, Suite 501, Binghamton. The series is hosted and coordinated by Tara Betts and funded by Binghamton Center for Writers, Creative Writing Program, Binghamton University-SUNY and Curcio Printing. This is the final reading in the 4-part series. Literati readings are free and open go the public.

Joseph O. Legaspi is the author of Imago (CavanKerry Press) and Subways (Thrush Press), a chapbook. He lives in Queens, NY and works at Columbia University. His poems appeared in Poem-A-Day from the Academy of American Poets, World Literature Today, jubilat, CURA, Diode, Gay & Lesbian Review, North American Review, Water~Stone Review, From the Fishouse, and the anthologies Language for a New Century (W.W. Norton), Collective Brightness (Sibling Rivalry Press), Flicker and Spark (Low Brow Press) and Coming Close (Prairie Lights Books/University of Iowa Press). He co-founded Kundiman, a non-profit organization serving Asian American poetry.

Burt Myers is a Johnson City-based poet whose writings have appeared in Stone Canoe, Measure, Tar River Poetry, First Things, Raintown Review, and Rotary Dial among others. He studied with A.E. Stallings, David Yezzi, and David Mason at the Westchester Poetry Conference and Mark Strand at the Sewanee Writers Conference. Recently, he hosted the monthly open mic at RiverRead books in downtown Binghamton.
