January Events at Brewery Ommegang

From Brewery Ommegang:

Out with the old and in with the brew:
Brewery Ommegang will hold a post-holiday season event on Saturday, January 4, from noon until 5 p.m. Retire your Christmas tree on the bonfire, upgrade your worst Christmas gift by swapping for someone else’s worst gift, and enjoy Ommegang ales, prizes and giveaways. Prizes will be given out on the hour from 1-4 p.m. Everyone who brings a tree for the bonfire will receive an Ommegang glass.

Great Beer Deserves Great Food dinner:
Great Beer Deserves Great Food dinners are back starting Saturday, January 11 at 7 p.m. The first GBDGF dinner of 2014 features Café Ommegang’s new executive chef, Evan Brown.

Chef Evan joined the Ommegang team in September. He studied at the New England Culinary Institute and is a certified beer Cicerone. This is Chef Evan’s first GBDGF dinner and his menu features five courses: endive soup with fine herbs and local honey comb, beet salad with goat cheese, potato salad with chive oil and bacon, bacon mousse stuffed rabbit loin with sweet potato gnocchi and anise braised leeks, and cherry and amber malt jello with Three Philosophers Chantilly cream. Each course is expertly paired with an Ommegang ale that highlights and enhances the flavors of the dish.

Tickets for the January 11 dinner are $75 each and available now at the Ommegang store from noon to 5 p.m., daily. Seating is limited and GBDGF events sell out quickly.
