Individuals and Families Invited to Celebrate Hanukkah

This year’s Community Hanukkah Celebration, open to the entire community, will be held on the last night of Hanukkah, Wednesday, December 4, 2013, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at JCC, 500 Clubhouse Road in Vestal. Cost is $8.00 for adults, $6.00 for children (with a family max of $28.00.) Reservations are appreciated by calling 607-724-2417.

The festivities will begin outdoors at 5:30pm with candle lighting, and teens participating in a torch walk to light the outdoor community menorah. Guests will then proceed indoors to enjoy performances by local children & teens and dinner, which will include traditional Hanukkah foods (including homemade latkes). The evening will also include games, crafts, dreidels & gelt.

The celebration is being co-sponsored by the JCC and the Greater Binghamton Jewish Federation. The JCC is a not-for-profit agency and beneficiary agency of the United Way and the Jewish Federation of Broome County that serves the community at large regardless of age, race, religion, and sexual orientation. Scholarship assistance is offered to all who qualify as long as funds are available.
