Two workers at Good Shepherd have been honored as Employees of Distinction by a statewide organization.

Leading Age New York, which represents hundreds of non-profit care providers, only gave out two awards in its 6 county Southern Tier region. Lisa Dupree was one of the recipients. She is the Social Director at Good Shepherd Village at Endwell. Dupree plans all of the recreational activities for independent living residents. That includes day trips, line dancing, Wii bowling, a book club, and a knitting group.

"I very much enjoy the work that I do here on a daily basis and take a lot of pride in being able to serve these residents. They're a great group of people. Just to be honored and recognized for this award, I'm very much appreciative of it," said Dupree.

Christa Webb was also recognized. She is the head of Social Services at Good Shepherd Fairview Home in Binghamton. The nursing home's CEO says Webb is a valuable employee.

"She just goes above and beyond the call in working with residents, in easing transitions when people come in. She's the problem solver for our residents if they have a concern," said CEO Michael Keenan.

Webb has worked at Good Shepherd for about eight years.
