Girls Invited To Take Part in Gingerbread Magic

From the Discovery Center:

Kick off the holiday season with a celebration of gingerbread traditions. Girls that participate will make their own gingerbread house to either take home or add to the Discovery Center of the Southern Tier’s “A Village of Gingerbread” display.

Girls in kindergarten through fifth grade can participate in this program, which runs from December 6 at 6 p.m. to December 7 at 8:30 a.m. at the Discovery Center of the Southern Tier. Pre-registration is required and new members are welcome.

The cost to attend is $28 per girl and $6 per adult. New Girl Scout members can attend by paying the $15 annual Girl Scout registration fee. Financial assistance is available. Those that wish to can attend a breakfast with Santa on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and help to celebrate the grand opening of Santa’s Workshop and A Village of Gingerbread. Additional tickets are required to attend the breakfast and grand opening and can be purchased at the time of registration.

Girls that attend this program will gain practical life skills, develop critical thinking, and promote cooperation and team building - all outcomes for the Girl Scout Leadership Experience which allows girls to Discover their interests, Connect with others in their communities, and Take Action to help make the world a better place.
