Courtyard Gifts in downtown Binghamton sells unique jewelry and unusual gifts. Almost all of its gifts, including Christmas ornaments, handbags, scarves and apparel, are made in the United States.

Owner Bruce Potter says guys should remember that diamonds are a girl's best friend. He says he has a wide selection of one-of-a-kind jewelry.

"With the economy being bad in the past few years, and the economy being much better now, we believe the girls would be appreciative more to a diamond. There's really only two items that increase in value, your home and your precious jewelry," said Potter.

Potter also recommends a "booze dispenser" made of stone to impress your friends while serving wine or liquor. And he says his collection of reversible ladies jackets have been very popular.

Courtyard Gifts is between Ellis Brothers and the MetroCenter on Washington Street. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. You can also make after hour appointments by calling 723-4171.
