Esquela to Deliver Final Scheduled 2013 Performance this Saturday at Shire Pub

From Esquela:

Locally-born roots rock band, Esquela, will deliver their last scheduled performance for 2013 this Saturday night, Nov. 16, at The Shire Pub, 123 Main Street, Delhi. Showtime will be 9:30pm, and there will be no cover charge.

Esquela released their sophomore album, ‘Are We Rolling?’, on June 20 at The Bowery Electric, NYC, this year. Since then, the independent-release has yielded an abundance of glowing reviews, and radio plays, from around the world, as well as new, foreign representation. Esquela also recently recorded their first-ever live album, with ace recording engineer Andris Balins (Dryhill Studios, Oneonta), and are planning its release for spring of next year.

Esquela features the acclaimed duo of vocalist Rebecca Frame and guitarist Brian Shafer, as well as front-man/co-writer John “Chico” Finn (bass, vocals), Matt Woodin (guitar, mandolin), and Todd Russell (drums, vocals). The band has shared the stage with artists like Deadstring Brothers, Whitey Morgan and the 78’s, Hellbound Glory, Marah, Steve Wynn, Jason Ringenberg, Dash Rip Rock, and The New Heathens, among many others.

Esquela was co-founded by industry veteran, and “bassist to the stars,” Keith Christopher. Christopher co-wrote Esquela’s new album, ‘Are We Rolling?,’ with Finn, and has written for many huge musical talents, including the late, great, Ray Charles. ‘Are We Rolling?’ was produced, recorded, and mixed by NYC Americana/rock legend, Eric “Roscoe” Ambel. Ambel has produced, and recorded, such popular artists as Ryan Adams, Robert Randolph, Steve Wynn, Marshall Crenshaw, Laura Cantrell, Marah, Mojo Nixon, and The Bottle Rockets, among many others. Ambel recorded the new album with Esquela during a weekend at the band’s home-base in Bovina, NY.
