Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital and Binghamton Senators Partner for Third Annual "Pucks 4 Paws"

From Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital:

Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital announced today that they have partnered with the Binghamton Senators hockey club in their third annual effort to assist the Southern Tier pet population, dubbed “Pucks 4 Paws”.

The initiative will officially kick off tonight with the debut of the 2014 Binghamton Senators Pucks 4 Paws calendar. The 16-month calendar features photos of B-Sens players, coaches and staff members with their family pets or adoptable pets from the Broome County Humane Society. The limited edition calendars are $20 and available while supplies last.

For the second consecutive year Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital will be raffling off a special piece of jewelry designed exclusively for Pucks 4 Paws by CD Daniel & Co. Fine Jewelry. The white gold medallion, valued at $1,500, is reversible. One side features a sand etched hand print and paw prints circled by diamonds, while the other side features the sand etched B-Sens logo circled by rubies and black diamonds. The medallion will be on display at the Pucks 4 Paws table on the arena concourse for all upcoming B-Sens home games until the drawing which is set to take place on March 15. Entrants need not be present to win. Raffle tickets are available for $10.

Pucks 4 Paws supporters are also encouraged to purchase a 2014 Pucks 4 Paws t-shirt, available in sizes small to extra large, for $20. There will also be a raffle for a pair of special themed baskets, featuring toys and treats for the special canine or feline in your life. Also included in the baskets are Pucks 4 Paws t-shirts and a pair of B-Sens ticket vouchers. Tickets for the basket raffle are $1 for three or $5 for an arm’s length.

The limited edition calendars, raffle tickets and t-shirts are all available for purchase at the Pucks 4 Paws table on the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena concourse for all upcoming B-Sens home games, starting tonight as the team hosts the Hershey Bears (doors open at 6 p.m.). The items will also be available for purchase at Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital. All proceeds will benefit the Animal Care Council, Broome County Humane Society, Front Street Dog Shelter, Project P.A.W. and Stray Haven/ASPCA in Waverly.

Additionally Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital and the Binghamton Senators will partner for two very special events in 2014:

•Tuesday, Jan. 21 the two will host the Pucks 4 Paws Can-Am Barbeque at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in downtown Binghamton
•Saturday, March 15 as the B-Sens host the Rochester Americans will be Pucks 4 Paws night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena

Details for both events will be released at a later date.

Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital and the B-Sens together have raised over $10,000 through their efforts over the past two hockey seasons. Their hope is to surpass that this season.

“Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital is so excited that the Binghamton Senators have embraced this cause and are helping us to keep the momentum going into a third straight season. Through our partnership we continue to bring awareness to this great cause and through the generosity of the community continue to provide the area shelters with much needed support,” explained Dr. Alison Beaulieu, owner and veterinarian of Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital.

“We also want to remind our supporters that while raising money is important in helping these shelters, volunteering your time is equally as important. We hope to continue to inspire the members of our community to donate their time and lend a helping hand.”
