Winning Powerball Ticket Sold in California

The sole winning Powerball ticket was sold in Northern California at a Chevron station.
Milpitas, Calif. (WIVT/CNN) - The sole winning Powerball ticket was sold at a Chevron station in Northern California.

Whoever purchased the ticket with those numbers is now $425 million richer. The Chevron station that sold the ticket will also receive a $1 million bonus.

In the drawing for the sixth largest jackpot in U.S. history, the winning numbers were 17, 49, 54, 35, and 1. The Powerball was 34.

The Powerball game is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. A single ticket costs $2, and the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 175,223,510.
