In the morning wave, Hal Sutton sinks a lengthy birdie putt on 10 and makes another one on 12.

1996 US Open champ Steve Jones just misses his birdie on ten, but redeems him self with a nice sand save on 12.

On 18, North Carolina school teacher Skip Taylor knocks in a close range birdie. He taught his group a thing or two out there.

Front 9, Billy Andrade putting for birdie on two, pulls it a little left.

To the afternoon wave, hometown favorite Joey Sindelar teeing off on the opening hole. He looked so comfortable walking down the fairways and chatting with fellow competitors along the way.

He hits it to 4 feet and knocks in the birdie putt.

Defending champ Bart Bryant also hits it close on #1 but pulls the birdie putt.

"The Walrus," Craig Stadler knocks his putt in on 10.

Gary Hallberg's group was the low group of the day with a score of 55.
