Mooresville, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Turner Scott Motorsports announced on Tuesday that it has ceased operations of its No. 30 team in the Camping World Truck Series.

In a news release, TSM said it had taken the "regrettable but necessary steps" to layoff 18 employees from the company as a result of ending operations of its No. 30 truck team.

Ron Hornaday Jr., a four-time champion in the series, has driven the No. 30 Chevrolet Silverado for TSM since the start of the 2014 season. Hornaday competed in the first 13 truck races this year, but he and the No. 30 team were absent from last weekend's event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Canada. The 56-year-old driver had finished a season-best third at Michigan and Bristol prior to Canada. He is currently sixth in the point standings.

TSM had two truck entries for the race in Canada. Ben Kennedy drove the No. 31 truck to a 15th-place finish, while Canadian Cameron Hayley placed 11th in the No. 32 entry.

"The decision to layoff any employee is painful, and we realize the affects it has on their lives," said Harry Scott, whose investment firm is a co-owner of TSM. "However, the decisions made by TSM today are necessary and the responsible steps for all of TSM to ensure our commitment to our employees, partners and fans to be as competitive as possible. The company notified employees this afternoon and will do all it can to help those affected to find new roles in the industry."

TSM has multiple teams in the Nationwide Series. Rookie Dylan Kwasniewski is running a full schedule for the organization in Nationwide, and Kyle Larson, who is a Sprint Cup Series regular, is competing in most races.

Scott owns HScott Motorsports, a full-time Sprint Cup team with driver Justin Allgaier.
