Ski Finger Lakes Brings Four Competitors Together

It's not too often in the middle of the season that you would see a ski center owner, like Toggenburg's Jim Hickey, showing up at a competitors resort.

“This is my 14th year at Song Mountain and we haven't really collaborated marketing the four mountains that are within a snowballs throw of each other,” said Peter Harris, owner of Song Mountain.

But Ski Finger Lakes is taking to social media and the web to change that for Song, Toggenburg, Greek Peak and Labrador. Instead of taking skiers from one another, the program is bringing these natural competitors together to benefit the entire ski industry in the area.

The aim this year is at day trippers and spontaneous skiers and snowboarders within a two hour drive of the four mountains, especially with the crucial mid-winter break coming up for many schools in the next week. The goal next year is to expand the Ski Finger Lakes campaign to the overnight market.
