Seton Grad Writes "Elusion"

A Binghamton native who has become an accomplished writer of teen fiction is returning home to sign copies of her latest novel.

Claudia Gabel co-wrote Elusion with Cheryl Klam. Gabel is a graduate of Seton Catholic Central and Binghamton University and the author of the teen series "In and Out" as well as the mash-up book "Romeo and Juliet and Vampires." Elusion marks Gabel's entry into the futuristic fantasy genre. It's set in the not too distant future and involves a virtual reality app that uses hypnosis to transport users to a variety of utopian landscapes.

Claudia Gabel says, "I really love writing for younger readers. For me, that's when my love of reading and writing came about when I was a young kid. I really want to try and help inspire young readers to be creative, and keep reading as they grow older."

Gabel will be signing copies of Elusion Saturday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Barnes and Noble in Vestal. She'll also read some passages from the book. And she says bring a sweet tooth as she'll be passing out free candy and bracelets.
