Traditions now has an operating agreement with Seneca Gaming Corporation to run its casino should it be awarded the Southern Tier's full-fledged casino license.
Traditions now has an operating agreement with Seneca Gaming Corporation to run its casino should it be awarded the Southern Tier's full-fledged casino license.

Traditions owner Bill Walsh says his team traveled across North America to find the best company to take Traditions proposed casino to another level and says he has found it in Seneca. Seneca Gaming Corporation operates Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel in Niagara Falls, Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel in Salamanca, New York, and Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino in Buffalo on behalf of the Seneca Nation of Indians. Traditions says Seneca's three casino properties employ about 4,000 people and generate more than one hundred-million dollars in annual spending with local businesses.

At Traditions proposed casino and resort in the Town of Union, Seneca would run the gaming floor, valet service, retail shops and restaurants. Walsh says it was important for his team to bring on a proven leader in the gaming industry, because while he has experience with the high-end golf course, spa and hotel, he hasn't run a casino before. Traditions is competing against Tioga Downs in Nichols and another business venture between Rochester and Syracuse for the Southern Tier's license.
