Senator Libous back in court Wednesday

Libous was indicted in July for allegedly lying to federal investigators about a quid pro quo deal involving his son being hired at a downstate law firm.
White Plains (WIVT) - State Senator Tom Libous was back in federal court in White Plains Wednesday morning.

Libous was indicted in July for allegedly lying to federal investigators about a quid pro quo deal involving his son being hired at a downstate law firm.

Libous is seeking a change of venue for further court proceedings to a location closer to Binghamton.

His attorney said that he is seeking more information from the U.S. Attorney's Office, which he said will help in the case to prove that the state senator is innocent.

The next key court date is January 9, when a judge may set a time for a trial.

Libous is facing a Republican primary challenge next Tuesday from Ithaca business owner Denver Jones.
