Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto was activated from the 15-day disabled list to start Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Votto landed on the DL with a left quadriceps strain on May 21 and has not played since May 15.

The four-time All Star and 2010 National League MVP went 2-for-6 with a run in his two-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville.

Votto has batted a career-low .257 with six homers and 12 RBI in 39 games this season.

To make room for Votto on the roster, outfielder Donald Lutz was optioned to Louisville.
