Owego Mayoral Candidate Lisa Curatolo

NewsChannel 34 is catching up with both Owego Mayoral candidates to talk about their priorities prior to Tuesday's election. This report focuses on Lisa Curatolo.
Sticking with Owego politics, we focus now on the woman challenging Mayor Kevin Millar. Late last week NewsChannel 34's Peter Quinn profiled Millar. Now he introduces us to Lisa Curatolo.

Lisa Curatolo has owned three businesses in the village over the past 28 years. Currently she owns The Goat Boy gift shop and the The Goat Boy Coffee Bar. Curatolo says she wanted to get involved with politics to create what the name of her party is, A Positive Change.

Lisa Curatolo says, "We wanted to start to work on the village as a business. We wanted to take a look at it, try to get everything working again, really work on the drug problems that we have, work on the OPD, the fire department and EMS. There are a lot of different things in the village that need to be worked on."

Curatolo says as to flood recovery, her concentration will be on residents since actual municipalities are in good shape.

Lisa Curatolo says, "My focus is going to turn to the village residents and helping them with flood recovery, holding the line on taxes, we've been working on budget, even though we're not in yet. We've been working on the budget for the last two months trying to figure out how we're going to cut here to add here and holding the line on taxes if first and foremost."

In Owego, Peter Quinn, NewsChannel 34.
