NYPIRG to Host Community Forum

From NYPIRG:

NYPIRG in conjunction with the League of Women Voters of Broome and Tioga County, Sierra Club and others is happy to announce a presentation by Former Executive Vice President of Mobil Oil, Lou Allstadt, Former IBM Systems Engineer Jerry Acton, and retired geologist Brian Brock, three respected experts on hydrofracking. Using statistics from Pennsylvania, geology from New York and Pennsylvania, and longstanding experience in the gas business, the speakers will explain how much shale gas we can expect to find under the Southern Tier and what that means for the future of hydrofracking in this area.

The sponsors of this event have made a special effort to invite local elected officials including the Broome County Executive to hear the science these speakers will present. The speakers will be available for interviews from 5:30 on the evening of the event.
