M-E Girls Prep For Friday's Semifinal Game

The Maine-Endwell girl's basketball team is headed to the Class A State semifinals on Friday to face Pittsford Sutherland.
It's Championship Week, but not just for college basketball ... we'll get to that later. The Maine-Endwell girls basketball team is headed to the Class A State Semifinals on Friday. They will be squaring off against Pittsford Sutherland. If they win that game they're headed to the Finals which will be played on Saturday against the winner of the Jamesville De-Witt/Harborfields game. But the girls aren't getting too caught up in what the other teams are doing, they're just focusing on their game and making sure they're ready to execute come game day.

Julie Yacovoni says, "We're just making sure that we really work hard in practice and that nobody lets up in practice both defensively and offensively what we think we're gonna see and make sure that we really box out and everything and stick to the fundamentals."
Victoria Dean says, "I think we just have to focus and just play our game and work on our defense, run through our plays and do what we do best and come out ready for them."

So the Maine-Endwell Spartans girls basketball team will play Pittsford Sutherland at 1:30 pm on Friday at Hudson Valley Community College. Also still alive in states, in Class C the Harpursville Hornets girls team will also look to punch their ticket to the Championship game on Friday. They face Hoosic Valley at 2:15 pm. The Union-Endicott Boys will face Section 6 Champion Jamestown. That game set for Saturday at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Tip off is 12:30 pm.
