Lightning G Bishop has wrist surgery

Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop underwent successful surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist, the team announced Tuesday.

Bishop set team single-season records for wins (37), goals-against average (2.23) and save percentage (.924) while helping the Lightning finish second in the Atlantic Division, but was injured late in the regular season and watched his club get swept in four games by the Montreal Canadiens in the opening round of the playoffs.

A Vezina Trophy finalist, Bishop will need 3-to-4 months of rehabilitation and is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.
