A 72-year-old man from Halstead, Pennsylvania has been indicted for his involvement in illegally exporting lab equipment to Syria.

Harold Rinko, along with two brothers, one living in England and the other in Syria, are accused of sending, among other things, a portable gas scanner for detecting chemical warfare agents.

Federal investigators say Rinko, owner of Global Parts Supply, conspired with the other men to send the equipment through third party countries and created false invoices to cover their trail.

The U.S. government has restricted exports to the war-torn country.

A federal grand jury indicted the men back in November 2012, but the indictment was unsealed today.

Prosecutors say Rinko has agreed to a plea agreement pending court approval.
