There will be a Halloween 13K run and two person relay this Saturday.

It will start at the Endicott Visitors Center on Lincoln Street and end at the Union-Endicott High School. The goal is to have fun and raise awareness and funds to help people with Prader-Willi Syndrome, which is a random genetic disorder that causes global developmental delays. The most striking feature is it causes an insatiable appetite while it slows a person's metabolism, so overeating and weight gain is a constant battle.

Rachel Johnson's daughter, Ellie, was diagnosed with Prader-Willi. The Johnson family has been organizing the race.

"It gives us something positive to do with something that was as challenge for our family. Having this Halloween run is very exciting for our family. It gives us something to do at Halloween that isn't centered around food and candy and treats, because that is something that we can't do as a family," said Johnson.

The 13K race begins at 9:30 Saturday morning. Cost for adults is $40 or $30 for the two person relay. A half-mile kids run will be at 9 o'clock. Adults and kids are encouraged to bring costumes. There will also be healthy trick or treating and a D.J. Online registration has closed, but you can register the morning of at 8:30. You can also find more information at
