About 100 people teed off to help the Boys and Girls Club of Binghamton recently.

It was the club's annual golf tournament at Vestal Hills Country Club.

25 teams competed.

New this year, Tioga Downs stepped up and became the new lead sponsor. Dick's Sporting Goods and Mang Insurance also help support the event.

Boys and Girls Club Executive Director Marybeth Smith says the money raised at the outing will help support programs the club offers for the youth in the community.

"We are seeing more and more children everyday and we just want to make sure we are doing as much for them as we possibly can. We feed them dinner, we do recreation with them, we do education with them and it just seems like everyday there is something more that we want to do for them. To make the money from this tournament is going to make that possible," said Smith.

The goal was to raise more than $20,000 for the club.
