A new group is dedicating itself to helping small local businesses do business overseas.

The Global Business Alliance is hosting "Go Global 2014" this Thursday at Traditions at the Glen. The alliance will show small businesses how they can expand into the global market and learn more about international trade.

Steve Day, President of the Alliance board, says that he started this organization to help promote partnerships, encourage job creation and stimulate the local economy. It plans to work with both Binghamton University and SUNY Broome through the business programs and the network of international students.

With the resources and land already available, Steve has high hopes for long term success.

"We begin to partner not only with our businesses locally but we partner with businesses internationally. And so it makes the global picture a lot safer. It makes the economy stronger; and it makes people healthier. And we all win. It's financially a good idea," said Day.

The day-long conference begins at 8:15 a.m. and has notable speakers, including the Dean of the School of Management at B.U.

Registration information is available at goglobal2014.org.
