Giants waive Hill following suspension

<p>The New York Giants have waived safety Will Hill, who was suspended by the NFL last Friday for again violating the league's policy on substances of abuse.</p>

East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Giants have waived safety Will Hill, who was suspended by the NFL last Friday for again violating the league's policy on substances of abuse.

Hill incurred a six-game ban for his third such suspension. He missed four games last year because of a league-imposed penalty and also sat out four games in 2012 after testing positive for Adderall.

The 24-year-old New Jersey native emerged as a starter in New York's secondary in 2013. He recorded career bests of 77 tackles and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown in a late-season win at Detroit, and started 10 of the 12 games he played.

Hill appeared in 12 games without a start in his first season of 2012. He notched 30 tackles, including 26 solo, while tying for third on the club with 13 special teams stops.
