East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Giants have placed guard Geoff Schwartz on short-term injured reserve while he recovers from a toe injury.
Schwartz, who joined the Giants as a free agent in March after playing with Kansas City last season, suffered a dislocated right big toe in the team's third preseason game against the New York Jets. He will be eligible to return for the Week 9 game against Indianapolis on Nov. 3.
The Giants filled the roster spot by signing veteran Adam Snyder, who spent eight of his first nine NFL seasons with San Francisco.
Snyder has started 87 of the 137 games he has played in his NFL career. He played his first seven years with the 49ers, then spent the 2012 campaign with Arizona before rejoining San Francisco last season.
