Cheney, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Former Arizona State cornerback Rashad Wadood has transferred to Eastern Washington and will be eligible immediately for the two-time defending Big Sky Conference champion.
The 5-foot-11, 184-pound redshirt junior from Long Beach, California, played in 20 games as a Sun Devil - 10 each in 2011 and 2013. Ironically, the final high school game of his career came against current EWU quarterback Vernon Adams Jr.
"We're excited to add a player like Rashad with his skill and experience," Eagles coach Beau Baldwin said. "He provides leadership and experience at a position where it is needed. We've heard nothing but great things about this young man, not only in terms of his ability to play the game, but also his character on and off the field."
EWU will open practices on July 31 and kick off the college football season at home on Aug. 23 against Sam Houston State.
